10 Years of Electrum: Rob and Andi Smead reflect on the journey
The past 10 years have been filled with plenty of challenge for Rob and Andi Smead as they built Electrum Supply into the company it is today. They both worked other jobs at the beginning to keep the bills paid and logged late night hours developing relationships, marketing products and attempting to streamline operations.
But the stress and the hustle has all been worth it for one reason alone: The relationships.
“I’m very, very, very grateful for all of you and the personal relationships we have with individual artists,” Rob said. “I get to talk to 10 or 15 artists every single day on a regular basis. Different artists asking me for advice, talking about their family lives and personal stuff. We’ve gotten to take trips with people and hang out and visit people at their shops. When we hear about the doors that have been opened by Electrum, I realize how fortunate and blessed and thankful we are.”
Andi spent many years working another full-time job while helping to build the company, but doesn’t regret a single vacation day or weekend spent on Electrum because of the people she’s met along the way.
“I have met so many interesting people and had so many laughs and seen so much artwork that is truly wow-worthy,” she said. “We wouldn’t be where we are without you. Thank you. Really we appreciate it.”
Despite how much the company has grown over the past decade, Electrum has always remained true to its roots as a family-owned and artist-owned business.
“That’s where our focus remains: Staying connected with you and listening to your feedback and input so that we can create products that outshine every other thing in the industry,” Rob said.
